Indians
There are three indian tribes in yellowstone, the Shoshone Tribe (who are also called the Mountain Shoshone), the Bannock Tribe and the Sheepeater Tribe. The sheep eater tribe once used to be part of the Shoshone tribe but a group of them separated from the tribe and formed a new one. The name most likely came from the fact that they hunt sheep and eat sheep from the Rocky Mountains. These indians are found in the northern parts of the Rocky Mountains, around the border of Idaho and Montana. You can also find some near Tendoy, Idaho, the city their leader was named after, Chief Tendoy, who died on May, 1907.
