Moose
The moose is one of the largest species in the deer family, making it to large for most predators to hunt. They are commonly spotted around rivers lakes, or water sources. When Yellow Stone was first founded in 1872 moose were very rare, they had died from disease, starvation, predation, being hunted, of wild fires killing the plants they ate. Then when they started getting protection from hunters and wolf control programs, and there wren't as many wild fires the population came back up. Moose are herbevors and tend to eat any type of fir tree. Their scientific name is "Alces aces", and may also be called an Elk.
